The SV5000 was at the time the pinnacle of HSV. Slotted into the SV5000’s engine bay was the 5.0lt ‘LB9’ V8, which was then heavily fettled by HSV to crank out 200kW and 410Nm. HSV accomplished this extra oomph thanks to flat-top pistons, a higher compression ratio (9.0:1), larger valves, a new camshaft, unique throttle body, knock sensor, trick induction kit with cold air intake, custom extractors and a ECU tune.
The SV5000 wasn’t short on creature comforts either, standard luxury equipment included 16-inch alloy wheels, four-speaker sound system with radio and cassette player, leather and cloth luxury trim, central locking, power windows, power mirrors, climate controlled air conditioning, cruise control and a trip computer. This particular example has been well looked after, with only 132,000klms on the clock, immaculate interior and good paintwork. There has been some paint around front and rear bumpers and there is a small blemish in the clear coat on the RHF guard. Overall though the exterior is in good condition, especially considering its age. The condition of the vehicle will not dissapoint.
The car has the original 16″ factory alloys included, and also currently rides on 20″ Momos. The suspension has got slightly lowered rear coils, but the original coils are included with the vehicle. Otherwise the suspension is completely standard.
Don’t miss an opportunity to purchase an appreciating asset at a very good price. With only 359 in total made number 306 represents an iconic HSV perfectly. Get in before the prices on these rise.
